Assessment for Occupancy The Cridge solely determines who is approved to have access to the 37 units. The VIHA solely determines who has access to the 40 government - funded units.  
How to Determine if you are Qualified Individuals must complete an application, and be approved by the Cridge staff. Decisions are NOT on a first come first served basis. Individuals must be assessed and approved by VIHA staff using their own criteria. The potential occupant must complete an application form for the respective units they are considering.
Supports and Services & Who Pays for What 

The monthly rent to the occupant includes:

Meals. At least two meals a day

Housekeeping of the units once a week.

Laundry Services for bed linens and towels once a week.

Recreation Activities and facilities.

Community Outings.

Prescribed Services. The Cridge, in accordance with the Standards imposed by Government, can provide limited assistance to individuals with care needs. These additional services will have to be paid by the occupant of the unit.

Note: Rent rates may change periodically.

The occupant contributes 70% of their income towards room and board.

VIHA and BC Housing between them contribute funding to the Cridge for the balance of the monthly rental.

VIHA provides personal care to individuals as and when they require them.

VIHA through their agreement with the Cridge pays for:

For VIHA and BC Housing supports and subsidies individuals must receive approval for these supports prior to admission to the 40 units.

Occupants in either of the types of units must perform their own (personal) laundry.
