Position: Direct Care Worker - Casual

Program: Macdonald House – a 10 bed residence for men who have survived a traumatic brain injury

Address: 1251 Santa Rosa

Personal automobile usage is not required for this position

Hours per week: Casual – on call

Starting Shift Schedule: Casual – on call

Nature of position: working under the general supervision of the Direct Care Team Leader, the Direct Care Worker provides, assists and / or monitors the personal care of the residents; provides, assists and / or monitors household activities; participates in recreation activities with residents within the department; and implements behavior management, rehabilitation and medication plans as developed by the care team.

Experienced required: minimum of 2 years work experience, including volunteer service, working with adults or children with a disability, preferably, adult survivors of a traumatic brain injury in an institutional or residential setting.

Qualifications required: Community Support Worker Certificate or certification in relevant courses in the healthcare field or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience; Current first aid / CPR certificate; Criminal Record Check; Foodsafe Certificate; Fire Safety Training; TB Test.
