School Age Care Worker

The School Age Care Program is currently seeking an enthusiastic, energetic childcare worker to plan and implement inclusive after-school care activities for school age children (ages 4-12) at the Cridge Childcare Centre. This is a permanent part-time position, beginning September 7th, 2010 (Monday-Friday, exact hours to be discussed at time of interview).
Minimum Requirements for the Position
One-year experience working with school age children.
19 years of age or older.
High School Diploma.
Skills and Abilities
An ability to function effectively within the constitution and by-laws of the Cridge Centre for the family. An ability to plan developmentally appropriate inclusive outings and activities. Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills. An ability to work as a part of a team, a sensitivity to the needs of the diverse clients and staff, and a willingness to expand knowledge in the area of childcare and child development.
Certification/Licensing **MANDATORY upon employment**
Standard First Aid/CPR C Certificate
Criminal Record Check Clearance
Class Four Driver’s License
Valued Assets
Any formal education in the field of childcare
Foodsafe Level One Certificate
Knowledge of community resources
Personal Suitability
Ability to show respect and care to those in the program, to be reliable and punctual, to model acceptable ethical standards and discipline methods, to show initiative, to be a team member, and to implement the departments policies and procedures.
Status: Part-time/permanent – 15 - 27.5 hours weekly
Salary: $14.76 per hour
